The catch log
Written by the crew after each trip: what bit, where, and what the water was doing.
-
Coral trout on the falling tide
Eight anglers, one sheltered reef and a run of coral trout once the tide turned at 7:40.
-
A mahi run on the shelf edge
A floating weed line 22 miles out held a school of mahi-mahi that would not stop biting.
-
Lanterns, squid and a very full bucket
Our Moonlight Drift turned into a squid party under the deck lights, with a surprise swordfish bite near midnight.

Questions we get asked
Do I need a fishing licence?
No. Our charter licence covers everyone on board, so you just turn up and fish.
What if the weather turns bad?
The captain makes the call the evening before. If we cancel, you can move to any other day or get a full refund. Add the weather guarantee when you book and you can also reschedule if the forecast swell looks uncomfortable.
Can kids come?
Yes, from age 5 on the Sunrise Bay Run and age 10 on offshore trips. We carry child-sized life jackets.
Do I get to keep my fish?
Yes, within the legal bag limits. Add fish cleaning when you book and we fillet and bag it on the dock.
I get seasick. Which trip should I pick?
Choose the Sunrise Bay Run or the Moonlight Drift. Both stay in sheltered water. Take any seasickness tablets the night before and again an hour before departure.
How do I pay?
You don't pay to request a booking. The captain confirms your trip by email and you pay at the wharf by card or cash.
